Yo, it’s
Aberly, how’s going this week? I wish I
could pass my marine biology midterm exam this week.
Anyway, this week I’m going to share with you “The concept and the message BTS want to convey in their albums.”
Among K-pop idol groups, BTS produce their project systematically from album, teaser, even songs. The stories and MVs of the songs in these albums as well as the concept are all connected together. Also, they have so many stories and abundant details to tell, so without further ado, let’s start!
BTS
released the first trilogy series called School
Trilogy Series from 2013 to 2014.
The EP title respectively is 《2 COOL 4 SCHOOL》 (2013), 《O!rul8,2?》 (2014), and 《Skool Luv Affair》 (2014).

The
concept in School Trilogy Series can be separated into three part: dream,
education, and love. BTS describes
teenagers’ worry about future and their hidden dream in their debut EP title
song “No More Dream,” which I’ve introduced in my preview post. *CLICK HERE* And one special part I want to share with you
is the rappers in BTS has made their own Cypher (impromptu rap one by one with
the same beat) since this first album, which is a feature of their albums.

Next
is the second mini album 《O!rul8,2?》 ; in this EP BTS
stands out and questions against the education system by the title song
“N.O.” *CLICK*N.O- MV link(turn on the sub) The code-like album name actually
meaning Oh! Are you late, too? And in the
song “N.O” BTS continues the message they want to send out in “No More Dream”:
questioning teenagers’ real opinion toward their own dream. Moreover, they point out another social issue
in Korea, education problem.
Actually
not only in Korea but in most of the Asia countries people always believe
studying is the most important thing because in that way one can make piles of
money and gain a wonderful life. But
this kind of ideology has written off lots of teenagers’ real dream because
they need to spend their time to study hard in order to meet teachers’ and
parents’ demand.
So
BTS encourages young people to pick up their courage and determine their mind
to say NO to the things they don’t want to do, instead, to chase their dream
and being themselves is the most important, and that is the main message that
they want to convey in the whole album.

The
last EP in this trilogy is 《Skool Luv Affair》, and the title song is “Boy
In Luv.” *CLICK*Boy In Luv- MV link(turn on the sub) In this mini album BTS illustrates
the theme of love; different from the innocent adolescent image in previous albums,
members transform into a “real man” and shout out their description toward
love. Title song “Boy In Love” sends the
describe the young perturbed heart of loving a girl. Then they continued the story of “Boy In Luv”
with the follow-up song “Just One Day” *CLICK*Just One Day- MV link(turn on the sub) to state the a boy’s mind that he
visualizes the imagination of pursuing the girl in “Boy In Luv” and the subsequent story.

eyes on luxurious fashion brands and ignore their parents’ effort to foster
them

– although life is immutable and sometimes even knock you down but never give
up and stick on your dream then tomorrow will be a brand new day

The
concept in this series are connected with teenagers’ concern – dream,
education, and love. Also, the three
part are surrounded with school, where teenagers spend their time at the most. That’s why the series is named School
Trilogy. Another point in the series is
that there is always a follow-up song of the title song, and it is used to
tell the rest story that the title song didn’t tell about.
As
you can see, BTS dedicates in the integrity of their album story and concept;
they want to let their fans fully receive the message from BTS so that their
fans can know BTS more, just like fans are being together with them and together
we will experience a variety of wonderful times in the future.
